    On July 16, 2010, during the maintenance of no.3 circulating water axial flow fan in the methanol plant of chuanxibei gas mine, southwest oil and gas field company, the axial flow fan suddenly started, resulting in a production safety accident in which 2 people died, 1 person was seriously injured but failed to recover and 1 person was slightly injured.

    Basic information of methanol plant

    The methanol plant is located in cuiping village, sanhe town, jiangyou city, about 6 kilometers away from the center of jiangyou city, covering an area of about 180 mu. Designed by sichuan chengda chemical engineering design institute, the plant adopts the process of "natural gas gasification by one-stage steam conversion, low-pressure synthesis and three-tower distillation", and produces 100,000 tons of refined methanol annually. In addition to the main methanol plant, the plant is also equipped with boiler, desalination water, circulating water, sewage, storage and transportation and other auxiliary devices. The annual designed operation time is 300 days. The factory was put into operation in 1999.

    The circulating water device of methanol plant provides circulating cooling water for 100,000 tons of methanol process production. The design value of circulating water in the whole plant is: 7600m cubed /h, normal water 7285m cubed /h; Feed water pressure: 0.45-0.60MPa; Backwater pressure: 0.25-0.45mpa; Feed water temperature less than or equal to 32 ℃; The return water temperature is less than or equal to 42 degrees Celsius.

    The circulating water device mainly consists of high temperature cooling water tower, undertower pool, suction pool, valveless filter, dosing equipment, adding acid equipment, axial flow fan, circulating water pump and other equipment and facilities.

    Maintenance of axial fan

    On June 19, 2010, during the inspection of the engineering workshop of the methanol plant, it was found that the axial flow fan blade of the cooling water tower of the circulating water was broken, and the workshop reported to the dispatching room of the plant. On June 21, the production of methanol plant will decide to carry out rectification as a project of factory automation. Because the blades of the axial flow fan were not replaced, the engineering workshop reported the material purchase plan on June 21, and the material arrived at the factory on July 12. On July 12, the production week of the factory will arrange to replace the axial flow fan blade of the cooling water tower with circulating water.
